| We're having a GIRL!!! We found out almost a month ago.. I know it's horrible, I never get on here anymore. I believe we are naming her Kenadie. It'll probably end up being Kenadie Noelle.. but we're not quite sure yet. I just can't wait to meet her. Here's a picture of our little girl...
She's just all curled up. I love to feel her kick and move around. It puts a smile on my face everytime. It's something I've waited a long time for.. and it's finally here! Last time we were at the doctor's, her heartrate was at 147. They moved my due date to February 24th... so I'll be 23 weeks tomorrow. I love it... I love her! We got to go shopping this past weekend and buy a few things for her. It's just sooo exciting. I just finished my last meeting (the ones where I have to stand in front of a huge crowd and speak).. yeah those. But this isn't just my last meeting for this session of meetings.. it's my LAST one. I've already told my boss that I'm not coming back after I have the baby. Big decision, but it's what I've wanted to do my whole life. I always knew I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom. It'll be a lifestyle change, cutting my paycheck out of the picture, but thanks to God, Jake has a wonderful job, and I believe we can do it. We've been so blessed and every-so-often, I just look at my life and think about how wonderful it is. Bad things happen now and then.. but they happen to everyone. God is amazing... I am reminded of that everytime I look at that picture. Little Kenadie.. I only have 17 more weeks til I can see you and cuddle you in my arms!! I can't wait.. and neither can your daddy. I hope everyone has a great week!! <3 my hubby | | |
| It's been forever since I've been on here. I have been so busy at work, when I get home, I have almost no desire at all to look at a computer. I'm super busy this week at work already, but I thought I'd update long enough to tell how the pregnancy is going. I'll be 20 weeks (halfway!) tomorrow. I've got a little bump... not much.. but something! Last Tuesday we had another appointment. The heartrate was 153. The tests for spina bifida and downs syndrome came back really good. I have a 1 in 3800 chance of having a baby with spina bifida and a 1 in 6700 chance of having a baby with downs syndrome. We have our ultrasound tonight and I'm very excited. I'm a tad nervous.. but super excited. I hope we can find out the sex.. I want to start seriously planning for this kid. I feel like if we know boy or girl, it'll kick me and Jake into high gear and we'll be getting stuff done sooner. I feel like we have so much to do... and yet, we just sit around and talk about all that we have to do. We don't even have definite names picked out. I thought that would be one thing that we'd have done the week after we found out we were pregnant.. but nope... we're just not sure yet. I'm so excited to see this baby for the first time.. this is huge! We know it's in there.. we've heard the heart beat... but to actually see it... I think it will make it really real. Today we will see our child for the first time ever!!! It's just crazy for me to even think that. *sigh* Please pray that the baby is healthy and strong and is the size it should be! And wish us luck!! <3 my hunny | | |
| I haven't been on here in what feels like forever. It's just been difficult to find time to get on here and update! This is gonna be a quick one too.. I gotta leave here in a minute and meet some girls for lunch! Anyway.. we went to the doctor again yesterday.. heard the heartbeat - 156! It was so exciting. I was 15 weeks yesterday (my ticker is one day off). I'm so glad I'm in my second trimester. I'm much more relaxed now. And now I'm counting down days til the beach! 9 more!! We cannot wait. We just have so much to look forward to!! This Friday we're driving in and going to the PHS football game... first one of the year. Then Saturday, we're picking up our new furniture we ordered, via UHaul (cause we live too far away and they won't deliver), and taking it home to unload. I'm not looking forward to Saturday at all.. it's going to be a tiring, hectic day. Blah. I'm happy about the new furniture though.. this is the first complete furniture set we've bought! And the first couch we've ever bought... since we've been married, we've gotten hand-me-downs.. which have been great.. but now it's time for some new stuff! Ok.. I better go. I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!! <3 my hubby!! | | |
| Ahhh.. Friday. I'm so happy it's Friday. I've had a rough couple weeks. So when Jake was taking care of the pipe in the yard back two weeks ago, he decided he'd also weed out some poison ivy. He's not allergic to it, but I am. Big time. He had it all over himself and then sat on our back porch furniture, which I then sat on the next day, with my pj shorts on. Lo and behold, by Tuesday, I'm itching up a storm. It just got worse and worse and by Friday, I had to wear a skirt to work cause it would've taken me an hour to get pants on. I had poison ivy all down the backs of my legs. The section behind my right knee was the worst. I got up Saturday and it was so bad, Mam-maw talked me into going to Medbrook. So mom took me to Medbrook and the PA tells me I have a secondary infection in the poison ivy. Turns out that a hot tub is not the best thing for poison ivy. Apparently, the goodness and healing powers of chlorine is cancelled out by hot water... as the PA said.. it's a "breeding ground" for bacteria. Tada. Hello secondary infection. So I spent all weekend and all of Monday and Tuesday (I had to call off work) sitting on a bath towel because my legs were oozing so much. It was miserable. I slept with pillow cases over my legs for about a week. When my legs weren't bandaged up, I couldn't go 5 seconds without dabbing my legs from them oozing so much. But... today, I wore pants for the first time in over a week. I still have my ankle patched up and a couple bandaids here and there.. but I'm much better.. thanks goodness. I was getting very frustrated. Especially since I just had to "wait it out" till it dried up. I'm taking an antibiotic for the infection. The PA tried to give me a steroid dose pack, but the OBGYN said I couldn't take it cause it was too early in my pregnancy. Thanks goodness I can take Benadryl... of course, I didn't start taking it til Monday.. but I think it did help. Anywho.. we got our ramp built on our deck last weekend and Pat and Kim are spending the entire weekend with us!! It's the first time that they've been to our house since Pat's stroke.. so about 8 months. Crazy! We're going to meet them for dinner tonight and then probably spend the majority of the weekend at home, relaxing. Ok, I better go. I just realized I hadn't updated in forever. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!! Only 3 more weeks til the beach!!!!! I need a break. I need to clear my mind.. I need to hit the reset button of my brain. Ahh.. I can't wait. <3 my hubby | | |
| I'm 12 weeks! Just that much closer to the second trimester! Yay I've been so busy.. that's why I haven't been updating all that much. Work has been insane the past couple weeks. I'm in the middle of statistics right now... it's just crazy. I have meetings every other day and can barely get all my work done. Blah. So the basement flooded on Friday. Turns out when the fence guys put the fence in, they put 5, count 'em 5, fence posts down through our drain line. That caused a back up.. and tada... flooded basement. The carpet in the new room got wet, but not super bad wet. We put fans in the room and I think it's about dry now. We're going to use an air purifier that someone from church loaned us and try to get any bad stuff out of the air... even though it doesn't stink, we know there's junk floating around in the air. The water didn't leave any kind of water line or mark on the carpet, so we don't think it got into that room very much... just enough to be a pain. Jake, dad, and a guy from church dug up the line on Friday and got it fixed by 9pm that night... so that should not happen again. A guy came to measure the deck yesterday. G-ma Barclay is paying for us to get a ramp built on the deck so Pat and Kim can finally come and visit again! They haven't been to the house since before Pat's stroke in December. There's just been no way for him to get in the house... we have all steps. I believe the guy is supposed to start building tomorrow.. and hopefully get it finished before next weekend, so they can spend next weekend at our house. Yay! They haven't seen our finished WVU room, updated living room, new bathroom, our hottub.. nothing! It'll be nice to have them to the house again. And plus.. a ramp means Mam-maw and Pap-paw can come over... Mam-maw's knees have been really bad lately, so she hasn't been able to get up the stairs. Same thing with G-ma Jane and Jake's Grandmas... this will be better for everyone. We're excited to get the ramp done. Well I better go. Lunch Time! I hope everyone has a great week! <3 my huby | | |
